D.O CONCA DE BARBERÀ
Our family has been involved in wine growing since the 18th century.
In our family archive, we keep the document of purchase of the Celdoni de Forès farmhouse in 1781.
Today, the family owns about eighty hectares of vineyards in the Conca de Barberà, where mainly the traditional varieties of the region (macabeu, parellada and trepat) are grown.
Our vineyards are distributed over the districts of Pira, Forès, Sarral, Solivella, Barberà de la Conca and Montblanc. In 1991, Carles Andreu, following the family tradition, set up the winery that bears his name. It was a small winery located in the town of Pira and situated on an old “Cal Celdoni” site, making use of the vats in which the wines had previously been fermented, respecting the perimeter and architectural forms of the house, built in 1796.
In 2004, they set up the new winery, which consists of an underground cellar, a production area, a laboratory, stores, offices, a tasting room and a reception and sales area.
It will soon also have a centre of information about vineyards and wine which, with the aid of audiovisual material, panels and antique artefacts used in wine growing and wine and cave production, will explain to visitors the wine growing process and subsequent production of wine and cava.
