A tour through our district of Milmanda is a privilege and a luxury for the senses. In among rosemary, juniper and thyme, we grow the grapes which give us our famous white wines.
In a delightful climate and at an altitude of 500 metres, you can learn about our system of vine training, using the light from the south, which will give us healthy, sugar-rich grapes.
When you visit our place in Milmanda, you will understand why the white wine we produce here is so extraordinary.
The Civil War caused a great crisis and in 1939 our winery was bombed. With the efforts of Miquel Torres Carbó and the aid of his wife, Margarita, it was rebuilt.
Generation after generation, our family has handed down the secret of making great wines and the love of the land. This tradition and a vision of the future have made TORRES a great exporting company which currently reaches more than 120 countries.
The surname, Torres, has been associated since over three centuries ago, when our ancestors already worked the vineyards in the Penedès, a wine growing region with an age-old tradition.
The restless spirit of the Torres family meant that they did not devote themselves to wine production alone. Thus, the distillation of brandy played an important role right from the beginning; Joan Torres Casals being the great brandy promoter by the year 1928.
We have allocated the Milmanda area exclusively to the production of the coveted Chardonnay.
In the midst of the Cistercian route, in the Conca de Barberà, we have discovered a location where the lowest temperatures are to be found: Milmanda; exclusively devoted to the growing of the golden Chardonnay grape, which produces the wine of the same name as the location: Milmanda.
A unique location from European history, overlooked by a medieval castle where the emperors Charles V and Philip II went hunting.
