BODEGA ESCODA – SANAHUJA (DO Conca de Barberà)
Family winery founded in 2003, at the foot of Mount Prenafeta. It currently has 7 hectares of vineyards, where the Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Garnacha, Carignan and Chenin Blanc varieties are grown. The cultivation of the vineyard is totally organic and with biodynamic principles. The calcareous clay soils of the vineyard, at an altitude of between 450 and 600 m, give character and elegance to wines that are seeking their own personal "terroir”.
Since the 2007 vintage, we have been producing with added sulphide. We therefore define our wines as natural wines coming from biodynamic agriculture. We also grow 3 hectares of olive and almond trees as well as a garden for our own consumption. We also make use of our small farm to rear hens, chickens, turkeys, lambs, cows and horses, as we consider biodynamics to be a living organism.
